DIY Hydrating at home skin care!
My newest obsession is do-it-yourself skin products. The love of making my skincare struck last year when I travelled to Los Angeles and forgot to pack my face wash! My skin was dry from the sudden change in climate. I was inspired to create a nice simple wash from my kitchen pantry to hydrate and soothe my skin. The results were excellent, and it worked!
There is a beautiful satisfaction that comes from making your skin products. Its a whole new level of self-care.
Now, there are many different combinations I love, but with the colder weather creeping on in Australia I've decided to share with you some of my favourite Hydrating face recipes.
The rich smell of chocolate and lavender had me hooked. I tested the face wash and toner for five consecutive days and didn't use any other face cleaners during this time. My skin felt fabulous. Store your products in the fridge to for up to a week to keep them fresh!
The avocado mask is only needed once or twice a week.
Cleanser:
1/4 cup oatmeal
1/4 coconut yoghurt
2 tbs cacao powder
1-2 drops lavender essential oil
For best results Blend your ingredient otherwise mix well!
*add some water to the cleanser when washing
Toner:
1 cucumber skin removed blended
1/4 cup water
1 tsp apple cider
5 leaves fresh Mint
Blend all your ingredients and store in a jar or bottle
Mask:
1/2 avocado mashed
2 tsp honey
Squeeze lemon
Mix your mashed Avo, honey and lemon together
If you don't have lavender essential oil, you can take it out OR add some natural lavender from a plant near your house. I use Doterra essential oils; they are high quality. I recommend making sure your oils are of high standard and can go on your skin.
